POC: Development Advisors or Base FTEC NCOIC

The First-Term Enlisted Course (FTEC), also known as the First Term Airman Course (FTAC), is a mandatory, five-day course designed to help new enlisted Airmen transition from technical training to their first duty station. It provides professional development by reinforcing basic military training lessons and offering informative briefings on topics like military professionalism, financial management, base resources, and personal readiness. The course aims to foster a mission-oriented mindset, encourage networking, and help Airmen adapt to their new environment by bridging the gap between the training environment and their operational roles. 

Key aspects of the First-Term Enlisted Course (FTEC/FTAC)

  • Purpose: To transition Airmen from a training mindset to a mission-oriented environment. 

  • Mandatory Attendance: FTEC/FTAC is a required course for all first-term enlisted members. 

  • Course Length: The course typically lasts for five days.

    • Reinforcement: It reinforces lessons learned in basic military training (BMT) and technical school.
